Raina at AYIMUN 2025: A BINUSIAN Voice for Global Change

Young people are not just leaders of tomorrow,  they are also a leaders today. This belief shone brightly when Raina, one of our outstanding students, proudly represented our school at the Asia Youth International Model United Nations (AYIMUN) 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand, held from May 2–5, 2025.

AYIMUN is one of the largest and most prestigious youth conferences in Asia, bringing together over 600 delegates from 40 different countries to discuss pressing global issues. Raina stood among passionate peers from around the world, engaging in critical debates on topics ranging from the ethics of artificial intelligence warfare to advancing inclusive education systems. In doing so, she not only represented BINUS SCHOOL Semarang but also Indonesia on an international stage.

Participating in AYIMUN required more than knowledge of global affairs. It demanded strong skills in public speaking, negotiation, diplomacy, and critical thinking. A skills  that Raina has been honing through our Leadership Programmes. These programmes are designed to empower students with real-world abilities, preparing them to voice their perspectives confidently, collaborate effectively, and contribute meaningfully to international conversations.

What makes Raina’s achievement so inspiring is her combination of curiosity, confidence, and commitment. She stepped into a challenging environment, surrounded by experienced debaters and bright young leaders from diverse backgrounds, and rose to the occasion with determination and grace. Her ability to articulate her ideas, listen to others, and find common ground reflected the values we strive to cultivate in every BINUSIAN: perseverance, integrity, and innovation.

Beyond the recognition, Raina’s journey at AYIMUN represents something greater, the growing role of youth in shaping the future. By engaging in dialogues about peace, technology, education, and global justice, Raina and her fellow delegates proved that young voices are essential in addressing the world’s most complex challenges.

We are proud of Raina for showing that BINUSIANS are ready to lead not just in classrooms, but also in global forums where the future is being written. Her achievement is a reminder that when passion meets preparation, the possibilities are limitless.
