WHY INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE?

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) offers an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary curriculum framework that builds conceptual understanding. It is a student-centered approach to education for children aged 3-12. It reflects the best of educational research, thought leadership and experience derived from IB World Schools
- Inquiry-based Approach
Students understand concepts through inquiry in different ways such as asking open-ended questions, exploring, investigating, and using a variety of resources.
- Approaches to Learning
Students are explicitly taught to demonstrate communication skills, research skills, self-management skills, social skills, and thinking skills.
- Initiate Sustainable Action
Students are encouraged to apply what they have learned to make a positive difference in their communities. Students take different types of action, which include participation, advocacy, lifestyle choices, social entrepreneurship, and social justice. In the final year of the programme, students organize the PYP exhibition.
- Holistic Development
It aims to develop the whole child by focusing on intellectual, emotional, social and physical development. The PYP also fosters the well-being of students and teachers.
- Student-centered Approach
Students are given voice, choice, and ownership of their learning. Students take responsibility for their own learning with guidance from teachers and other members of the school community.
