From ICT Lab to Innovation Hub: How BINUS SCHOOL Surabaya is Shaping the Future of Learning

Let me tell you a cool story about how we use technology at BINUS SCHOOL Surabaya and why it’s so awesome!

A long time ago (way before we were even born!), schools had something called an ICT Lab. It was just one room filled with big, heavy desktop computers. Back then, there were no laptops or iPads, so if you wanted to use a computer, you had to sit still in that one room.

But guess what? Things have changed! At BINUS SCHOOL Surabaya, we’ve transformed the old ICT Lab into something new and exciting. We now call it the Innovation Hub! 

It’s not just a room with computers anymore. The Innovation Hub is a space where we get to explore and create using iPads, MacBooks, robots, mBots, virtual reality (VR), 3D printers, and even a laser cutter! It’s a place for ideas, imagination, and fun learning.

For students in Grade 3 and below, like some of you, we get to use school iPads or laptops in class. Then, when we reach Grade 7 and above, we bring our own devices to school.

And here’s the best part: our whole school is seamless connectivity! That means no messy wires or plugging things in. All our smart TVs are connected to the Wi-Fi, so we can share what’s on our iPads or MacBooks right onto the big screen. It’s super smooth—like magic!

Everything works together in the Apple ecosystem we use, which helps us learn in fun and exciting ways—whether we’re coding robots, making cool projects, or watching lessons on the screen.

So, when you grow up at BINUS SCHOOL Surabaya, you won’t just use technology, you’ll know how to use it anywhere, anytime, and for anything.
