Media Coverage: BINUS SCHOOL Surabaya Elevates Learning with Technology in the AI Era

BINUS SCHOOL Surabaya hosted Community Connect 2026 from 9–11 April, offering an interactive platform for parents, students, and educators to experience technology-integrated learning designed to prepare students for the digital era.

The event highlighted how emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), are applied within the curriculum to create more adaptive and relevant learning experiences.

Key programmes included an Educators Gathering with Prof. Dr Derwin Suhartono, Dean of the School of Computer Science at BINUS University, where over 50 educators gained practical insights into the responsible use of AI in education.

Students also took part in the Champions Battle: Road to World Scholar’s Cup, featuring debate, writing, and Scholar’s Bowl simulations to strengthen critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.

Meanwhile, Little Stars Gymnastics and Harmony Yoga: Mum & Kids, alongside a Health Talk and Mobile Clinic with Waron Hospital, supported children’s physical and emotional well-being, as well as parent-child engagement.

Principal Mr Alexandre Trespach Nenes emphasised that education today must go beyond technological proficiency, encouraging students to think critically and use AI responsibly.

The event concluded with strong enthusiasm from the East Java community, reflecting growing awareness of the importance of future-ready education.
